Research
An ongoing inquiry into ethics, proximity, worldbuilding, and the forms through which fragile realities can be held, mediated, and transformed.
My research grows directly from artistic practice. I am interested in how artists can work with fragile, vulnerable, or complex realities without exposing them extractively, and in how questions of ethics, proximity, labour, and worldbuilding shape both the making of art and the conditions in which it is produced.
Ethics, Participation, and Artistic Labour
This strand of my research examines the ethical and structural tensions within community-based and publicly funded art practice, with particular attention to participation, institutional contradiction, artistic labour, and the distance between cultural frameworks and lived realities.
Research in Practice
Moving Image
Artist film, visual poetry, and artist documentary through which I explore memory, migration, embodied experience, and the relation between landscape, sound, and lived histories.
Graphic Novels
Narrative worldbuilding as a way of giving form to disorientation, fragile memory, and emotional complexity through drawing, sequential structure, and symbolic transformation.
Worldbuilding as Ethical Mediation
This strand explores how worldbuilding can function as an ethical filter and affective container when the artist works from within proximity, vulnerability, and shared crisis, allowing fragile realities to take form without being reduced to direct exposure.
Performance
Live and embodied forms through which narrative, music, and presence become relational spaces for transformation, storytelling, and shared experience.
Community Based
Practice-led research shaped through collaboration with communities, where ethical questions of participation, labour, visibility, and long-term responsibility become central.
